Quadrant Overview
Quadrant Components, Inc. is a well established, soundly managed, financially secure U.S. company which celebrated its 20-year Anniversary in 2001.
Founded in 1981 as a privately held California Corporation, Quadrant’s original focus was on designing and manufacturing board level system components. It continues to produce memory modules to serve the after market, distribution and reseller channels.
In 1988, Quadrant purchased its main U.S. facility, in Fremont, California. This location serves as World-wide Corporate Headquarters, U.S. Technology and Design Center, as well as support for the North American marketplace.
In 1997, Quadrant began to expand our future vision by initiating a program of diversification. Through acquisition, alliances and the steady growth of its internal resources, Quadrant has established itself as a Fabless Semiconductor Company with a strong microelectronics development and design capability and an impressive inventory of Analog ASIC cores available for license or in support of customer design and layout services.
While Quadrant is a U.S. based company, it has deep roots in China, where it is established as a Technology Sales Representative and Distributor. With locations and facilities throughout the mainland, Quadrant serves the domestic Chinese OEM marketplace. Quadrant, in addition to its sales and distribution capabilities, has also developed a number of other strategic investments and partnerships in the technology area in China. The Chinese semiconductor market is huge and growing (Estimated to be $100B USD in 2010). In 1999 Micron Technology, Inc., in recognition of this potential, appointed Quadrant as their authorized channel in China for all Micron products.
Also contributing to Quadrant’s ability to serve markets in other parts of the world are its facilities in Taiwan and its Trading Company in Miami, Florida which supports Latin America.
Quadrant has evolved over the years in a carefully planned and insightful manner. It has positioned itself to take advantage of the world-wide growth in consumer electronics, networking and personal computing systems. It will continue to invest resources in the future.
